Global Trade & Customs Compliance Manager

Key Responsibilities

1. Global Trade Compliance

• Establish, implement, and continuously improve trade compliance policies, procedures, and control mechanisms.
• Ensure import and export activities comply with relevant customs laws and trade regulations across applicable markets.
• Track regulatory changes involving customs, international trade, sanctions, and export controls.
• Advise internal stakeholders on cross-border transactions and international trade compliance matters.

2. Customs Management & Duty Optimization

• Oversee HS code classification, customs valuation, and country-of-origin determination.
• Coordinate customs audits, regulatory inquiries, disputes, and duty recovery activities.
• Identify opportunities to reduce duty costs through Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and 
• applicable preferential trade programs.
• Evaluate tariff exposure and landed costs to support sourcing and procurement 
• strategies.

3. Export Controls & Trade Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with export control requirements, sanctions regulations, and restricted-party screening procedures.
• Conduct trade compliance assessments and due diligence on relevant business partners and third parties.
• Identify, evaluate, and mitigate regulatory risks across international supply chains.
• Support contingency planning for potential disruptions arising from geopolitical developments or regulatory changes.

4. Compliance Operations & Governance

• Provide compliance assessments and guidance for cross-border shipments, equipment, materials, technology, and related business activities.
• Develop appropriate documentation, record-retention, monitoring, and internal control processes.
• Manage relationships with customs brokers, external consultants, and other trade compliance service providers.

5. Training & Cross-functional Collaboration

• Develop and deliver training programs to strengthen trade compliance awareness across the organization.
• Coordinate internal compliance reviews, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Legal, Commercial, and Manufacturing teams.
• Prepare regular reports on compliance performance, emerging risks, and improvement initiatives for senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Law, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in global trade/customs compliance, import-export, or logistics.
• Experience in multinational companies, preferably in manufacturing or industrial sectors.
• Strong knowledge of customs regulations, HS classification, Incoterms, FTAs, tariffs, and export controls.
• Experience in customs audits, trade compliance programs, and risk management.
• Proficient in English with strong analytical and stakeholder management skills.
